Legendary cricketers like Shane Warne and Rahul Dravid have been a part of this team. The team won the IPL under the captaincy of Shane Warne. Royals were runners-up in the 2013 Champions League Twenty20 tournament as well, this time led by Rahul Dravid.

The blue colour of the team costume was replaced with pink in this year. Ahead of the 2019 IPL auction, Rajasthan Royals retained 16 players and released 9. The Royals bought another 9 players in the auction.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led side will hope to repeat their performance of 2018 and hope to make the playoffs again this year. The return of Steve Smith will further strengthen their batting. Once again the core of the batting will depend on Jos Buttler, who single-handedly took the Royals to final four last year. Rajasthan will heavily depend on him and hope for the batsman to fire once again. Buttler also equalled Virender Sehwag’s record of 5 consecutive fifties.
