KXIP vs CSK Dream11 Team May 4, 2019

While there may be a slight mathematical opportunity for the Kings XI Punjab team to qualify for the playoffs of the IPL 2019, they have been knocked out for all real purposes and purposes. As the Kings XI get ready to play their last game, a promising start to the year has come to nothing. They’re going to play against the Chennai Super Kings in Mohali.

The Chennai Super Kings have already qualified for the playoffs of the IPL 2019 and could finish in the top-2 without winning this game as well. A win here, though, leaves nothing to chance and ensures they are playing the Chennai qualifier.

As far as games are concerned, this is one of the few we had in IPL 2019 that has little bearing on the final result.

KXIP vs CSK IPL 2019 will be played at the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Punjab Cricket Association.

The team that wins the toss will probably want to bat first. This is a day match and by the time the second inning plays, the pitch could get a bit drier, making batting a bit harder.

KXIP vs CSK IPL 2019 will be played at the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Punjab Cricket Association. The match day weather forecast is pretty good. Although the temperatures will be quite high, there is no expected rain. It’s a day match so the dew won’t be a problem.

In the previous match, 180 were scored batting first and then chased down here with ease. We think this match will see a similar kind of pitch. At this venue, 180 or 190 should be considered as par.

KXIP Predicted Playing XI: Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran, Mandeep Singh, Sam Curran, RavichandranAshwin, Oshane Thomas, Mohammed Shami, MuruganAshwin, Arshdeep Singh

CSK Predicted Playing XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, KedarJadhav, RavindraJadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir

Another deceptive Kings XI performance saw them lose their previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. That match was a sort eliminator and losing it ended Kings XI’s hopes of reaching the playoffs of IPL 2019.

The team that held it back this year has some fundamental problems. Chris Gayle and Lokesh Rahul weren’t as effective as expected, David Miller was a big disappointment, and the bowling attack was also quite weak.

Ashwin was a good captain and tried to get the most out of his side, but he couldn’t do anything after a point.

It’s hard to see the Kings XI Punjab in this match troubling the Chennai Super Kings with this backdrop. For once, we don’t think that on the side of Kings XI there will be too many changes. Perhaps Arshdeep Singh is dropped from the 11 players, but that might be the only change we see in this game.

In IPL 2019, Mohammad Shami was very good and that is a good sign that India looks forward to the 2019 ICC World Cup. He got the ball in the right place and picked up wickets whenever he bowled.

The lack of support from players such as Andrew Tye, Sam Curran, Mujeebur Rahman and HardusViljoen has prevented a good bowling attack from being carried out by Kings XI. The Chennai Super Kings have no very strong batting lineup, but the Kings XI will still have to be smart in their approach to this match.

Kings XI fans will hope for some Gayle and company fireworks to end IPL 2019 and give them a reason to smile at the end of a very deceptive campaign.

In the previous match, MS Dhoni, RavindraJadeja and Faf du Plessis came back to the side and showed how dominant Chennai can be when playing in their own conditions. This year’s Delhi Capitals was one of the best sides and in the previous match they completely demolished Chennai.

Now, by beating Kings XI Punjab, Chennai can see a clear chance to finish in the top-2.

There are a lot of strengths to watch out for on the side but a few potential pitfalls.

Mohali’s ground is one of the IPL’s larger ones. The running between wickets and ground fielding can shine a light. Chennai Super Kings are the oldest average age, and this could be a problem, although there are clear exceptions to Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.

Also in their side, the Chennai Super Kings lack power hitting options. MS Dhoni batted very well and played the finisher’s role, but there is no other in the team who showed the ability to do the same thing.

For Chennai, chasing a big total can be tricky especially on a ground where it can be hard to get through the big hits.

His bowling attack was the biggest strength for the Chennai Super Kings. Each player has a clear role to play and is in good shape. Deepak Chahar, RavindraJadeja, Imran Tahir, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh. In this bowling attack there is no weak link and there is sufficient variation to be able to adjust to any conditions.

Also, due to the large ground dimensions, the spinners in Mohali have done well so that Chennai’s spinners also have a good chance to lead their side to another win. If Shane Watson and Suresh Raina can score a few runs then Chennai will go to the IPL 2019 playoffs in perfect conditions.

The Chennai Super Kings appear to hold in this match all the aces. They certainly have a better bowling attack and as a unit they are very well settled. The conditions may not match their game perfectly, but we believe they have the experience to adjust. The match might be closer than most people expect, but Chennai is still the most likely winning team.

Wager on winning the Chennai Super Kings.
